The AJS-assigned rooms will be available on
Sunday: 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Monday: 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Tuesday: and 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
We will add additional hours in the evenings, in the event of demand.
You will be notified of location in advance of the meeting, so as to inform prospective candidates. AJS will not notify candidates.
AJS Policy on Interviews
AJS policy forbids the use of private guest rooms for the scheduling of interviews with attendees at our conference. We are pleased to accommodate the needs of those wishing to conduct interviews by making available individual meeting rooms on the conference level, courtesy of the Sheraton Centre, for candidates to be met in a dignified and comfortable setting. Institutions are, of course, welcome to reserve directly from the Sheraton Centre at the hotel's per diem room rate their own multi-room suites for use in interviewing, so long as the sleeping quarters are separated by a closed door. Candidates who encounter difficulties are asked to inform the AJS Executive Director.
To Request the Use of an Interview Room
Authorized representatives of institutions advertising positions and wishing to interview candidates should submit their requests for blocks of time on this form. There a non-refundable fee of $5.00 USD per half-hour time-period. Thus, based on the number of candidates you anticipate interviewing, you should request an appropriate number of slots, and AJS will schedule your meetings on a confidential basis, taking into account the inclusive arrival and departure dates and times you indicate overleaf. We cannot guarantee that any particular time slot will be available. All requests will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and we ask interviewers and candidates to be flexible. Please note that for a full day a sitting room may be rented from the hotel at a comparable rate to the fee we are charging.
