AJS Policy on Interviews
AJS policy forbids the use of private guest rooms for the scheduling of interviews with attendees at our conference. The AJS will provide for a modest fee meeting room space where interviews can be conducted in a dignified and comfortable manner. Institutions may reserve their own multi-room suites for use in interviewing, so long as the interview is held in the sitting room area and the sleeping quarters are separated by a closed door. Candidates who encounter difficulties are asked to inform the AJS Executive Director.
AJS/AAJR Policy on the Hiring Process
AJS members are reminded to review the AJS/AAJR joint statement on the Hiring Process.
To Request the Use of an Interview Room
Authorized representatives of institutions advertising positions and wishing to interview candidates should submit their requests for blocks of time on the reservation form. All requests will be on a first-come, first-served basis; reservation fees are non-refundable after October 31, 2011. |
