I. Conference Registration Fees

Advance registration will be available until November 14, 2014

Professional Member Rate: $135.00
Student Member Rate: $65.00
Non-Member Rate: $190.00

After 11/14/14 registration fees are Member ($160), Student Member ($75), Non-Member ($210) and will be available onsite ONLY in Baltimore.

Please note:

  • Joint members must register separately if each member wishes to attend conference sessions and visit the book exhibit.
  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations after October 31, 2014 (September 15, 2014 for session participants). All refunds will be charged a $20.00 processing fee ($10.00 for students), with the exception of refunds requested by those whose papers were not accepted.
  • Conference badges must be worn for admission to all conference sessions and the book exhibit.

II. Hotel Accommodations

The AJS is pleased to announce that the Hilton Baltimore, located at 401 West Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21201, has extended the AJS a rate of $119.00 per room, single and double occupancy, not including taxes, with a limited number of rooms for students at $109.00. AJS does not work with any third parties or housing bureaus for convention housing so beware of anyone contacting you and claiming to represent AJS. Reservations can be made by calling the Hilton reservations line at 1-800-HILTONS; it is very important for your reservation to be included in the AJS room block, so please make sure to ask for the Association for Jewish Studies rate.

Please do not use the regular Hilton website or other hotel booking sites to make your reservation; the only way to access the special AJS reduced rate is through our group's special reservations links. Please contact the AJS office ( if you have any difficulty making a reservation.

Guests are welcome to request a view of the Camden Yards. Please make the request when calling 1-800-HILTONS. Please note that a ballpark view is not guaranteed.

IV. Sephardi/Mizrahi Caucus Lunch

The Sephardi/Mizrahi Caucus Lunch will take place December 15, 2014. The cost is $37.00. Paid reservations must be made online by November 14, 2014. The annual meeting of the AJS Sephardi/Mizrahi Caucus will take place immediately following the lunch and is open to all conference attendees. V. AJS Women’s Caucus Breakfast

The AJS Women’s Caucus Breakfast, open to members of the AJS Women’s Caucus, will be held Monday, December 15, 2014.  The deadline for pre-registration for the Breakfast is November 14, 2014.  You may make a breakfast reservation and renew your Women's Caucus membership online. VI. Childcare

AJS Childcare Subsidies

The Women’s Caucus is pleased to offer a limited number of small childcare grants for use at the 2014 Annual Meeting in Baltimore. If you need assistance in order to pay for childcare at the conference, please send your name, contact information, days which you will be attending the conference, and the number of children that will need care to: by November 14, 2014. Preference will be given to graduate students and non-tenured scholars. Grant recipients will be notified prior to the conference regarding the amount awarded.

The Hilton Baltimore lists the following childcare company as a preferred vendor. Please note: the AJS has not vetted this recommendation and assumes no liability for use of these services.
