AJS/AAJR Registry of Dissertations in Progress

The dissertation registry is a collaborative venture between the American Academy for Jewish Research and the Association for Jewish Studies and is designed to collect and classify information on dissertations in progress in the field of Jewish studies. Graduate students whose dissertation proposals have been accepted, and recent Ph.D. recipients who defended their dissertations in the 2005-06 year, are invited to submit their information.

Students and all scholars contemplating new research in an area of Jewish studies stand to benefit from the registry, as both a guard against potential overlap or duplication and a stimulus to further work on the most current topics or themes. Please fill out this form as completely as possible. You must select at least one Library of Congress Subject Heading, among other required fields. These subject headings are entirely of your own choosing from the Library of Congress catalog, and will be a preliminary form of Cataloging-in-Publication. Your email address and “Additional Contact Information” are discretionary fields—to maintain your privacy, we recommend your using email and/or the mailbox in your university department as points of contact.
